How Much Do You Love Yourself?

What do you love? I mean, what do you really, really love? I don't mean your grandkids. I don't mean your favorite color or recipe or dress or car. I mean, look deep in your soul, yes, your soul, and call up what brings you so much pleasure that you can hardly stand it! What makes your heart race faster and puts a smile on your face? What is it that is so wonderful, and you love so, so much that you can hardly contain yourself?

Not so easy to answer, is it?

Why is that?

It seems to me that we should have that answer right at our fingertips; it should be at the forefront of our minds, something we immediately draw upon whenever we want to! But we don't. Why not?

My theory is that we are so busy "taking care" that there simply aren't enough hours in the day to address our "love." Think about it.

Love the execution of what you create!

I was recently reading Somerset Studio magazine, (www.stampington.com). It is a delightful, inspiring publication chock full of creative ideas, explosions of color and suggestions on how folks (mostly women but not exclusively) create doing what they LOVE most in the world.

Creativity is a way to love not only what you do but, quite frankly, to love yourself, to love the execution of what you create, or do, or think, just for the sake of it. What an opportunity and what a gift; not only to yourself but to your world.

So, give it some thought. Take a few days. Then ask again; what is it that moves your needle? Then do it, my friends! Don't wait until the dishes are done, till the laundry is finished, till the bills are paid, till the cows come home or tomorrow. Create for yourself, for the world and your soul. Remember, tomorrow is not guaranteed but that butterfly feeling in your gut needs to be addressed and let out to fly!

Happy Aging, Sue
